I am a sculptor in any appropriate material and also work with video, sound. I like Big Art particularly in public spaces and believe art should also entertain.

My work covers a broad range of techniques and materials all could be loosely classed as sculpture. Even the photographic, video and audio work has a structural element that in my view is sculptural. The process usually begins with an idea or image that strikes or appeals to me which I then work with using relevant materials. The material or making can hijack the idea and I end up following it such that it determines the final work created. I prefer my work to be attractive but also like the result to be intriguing and thought provoking - I have no problem with a major element of entertainment.

Looking for themes in what I do; it does often start with structure but at the same time pushing the underlying logic while working with the grain of material used. The work should not be ‘easy’ for artist or viewer!

STUDIO: The studio is on first floor of former industrial premises above small engineering workshops and is part of a group of studios with shared resources. It is a making space and contains work at various stages of development.
