I paint all subjects in any medium and teach classes in watercolour. I am interested in capturing atmosphere, imagination and the play of light and shadow.

I have painted all my life – as long as I can remember. I was trained at Sheffield College of Art and Sheffield College of Education (Now all part of Hallam University) Upon graduating I taught art for 30 years in various schools in Sheffield and Derbyshire and then took early retirement to become a full time professional artist and art tutor.

I don’t like to get into a rut with my painting – I like to keep trying something new both in subject matter, style and materials. I believe that an artist should never stop learning and developing. I paint mainly in watercolour or oil and my genre of choice is realism with imagination and atmosphere.

STUDIO: My studio is a purpose built extension to the house. I also use it for my painting lessons and as a permanent gallery of some of my work.

DIRECTIONS: Bus no 82. Get off at the shops opposite Ecclesall Church. Cross Ecclesall Road and walk along Weetwood Drive. Number 27 is the last house on the left. The studio is around the side of the house. Bus no 88. Get off at the stop at the end of Weetwood Drive.
