As an artist my work combines a deep understanding of the natural world, contemporary, historical, and prehistorically, with a finely honed skill in shaping stone.
Artist and Stone Sculptor, my work is often in the form of fine small scale stone sculpture designed for interior spaces, and is of a high quality. I am an emerging artist (since 2006) and show work in Galleries and Sculpture gardens across the UK, as well as at an increasing number of shows.
My work is rooted in our relationship with the natural world within the context of the British landscape. Domesticated and Wild animals are used as symbols of this relationship in a very modern take of our instinctive and ancient connection with nature. I’m inspired by historic use of animals in art, specifically from prehistoric bronzes which are highly stylised. My forms are exaggerated in a way so as to capture the spirit and movement of the animal, be it vigour and strength, or good humoured playfulness.
