Limited edition, archival quality exhibition photographs. Atmospheric images that may talk of absence yet reveal signs of humanity. More beneath the surface than meets the eye.

I am a photographer and former Sheffield GP who left the NHS in 2007 to become an artist full-time, making fine art photographs in limited editions.

My work has been published since 1984 and exhibited since 1993. My subjects include Cuba, cityscapes, identity, mortality, light, and space.

I am currently exploring and presenting my observations of personal and external space, and the play of different forms of light in those domains. These atmospheric images talk of absence – the buildings are often vacated, the rooms empty – yet there are signs of a human presence in the scene.

I continue to develop my understanding of their meanings and the connections between the recent photographs that I have made. Compared with the purely documentary approach of earlier work, these newer images are more likely to pose questions than provide answers, and they usually contain more beneath the surface than immediately meets the eye.
