My technique deals not merely with the visual effect of the painting, but with the thought provoking effect it leaves afterwards and the emphasis is on the actions and gestures by which the colour was employed and the picture manoeuvred.
“What I am seeking is not the real and not the unreal but rather the unconscious…………”-Amodeo Modigliani. These few words have the power to transliterate my approach to painting. My technique intentionally or unintentionally parallels the style of multifarious schools of art. My creation always gives emphasis on the actions and gestures by which the colour was employed and the picture manoeuvred.
Although by profession I am a FE/HE lecturer, my teaching job never comes between me & my creative exploration.
My beloved father, who was more a friend to me than my father, at the age of fifty five succumbed to an untimely death.
Amidst this ebb and flow of life, I vigorously created. Indeed, pathos instils creativity. Painting has a therapeutic effect. This time too my father inspired my work, although in a different way.
The love my father bore for me and for everybody instantly made me feel positive. Imbibed with love, I poured all my positivism into my passion-writing and painting.
STUDIO: A vista of vibrant colours is what my studio has to offer. My studio is where I dream and create. I will be displaying paintings which depict the myriad colours and ever changing moods of the Indian subcontinent. My work has previously received much appreciation and recognition in the media (BBC, Sheffield Telegraph, Yorkshire Post, Daily Mail) and I hope it will spice up your imagination.
